For over 30 years, Gummers has been a cornerstone of King Street. As one of Derbyshire’s last remaining independent, family-run greengrocers, we’ve seen the high street change, but our mission has remained the same: providing the people of Belper with top-quality produce at a fair price.

From the Pitch to the Pantry

If you’ve spent any time on King Street, you’ll know the face behind the counter. Sean Gummer has been a fixture of the Belper community for over 30 years. Before he was hand-selecting the finest local Maris Pipers, Sean was better known in the region for his years as a professional footballer, notably playing for Derby County.

That same competitive drive and dedication to excellence now go into every crate of fruit and veg that enters the shop. Sean and the team have seen the high street evolve, but our mission remains unchanged: providing the people of Belper with top-quality produce at a fair price.

Most everyday products can be bought once or added as a regular subscription, so your favourites arrive automatically on your chosen schedule.

Prefer to choose everything yourself? No problem. You can skip the boxes entirely and build your own custom order from our full range of fresh produce and larder essentials.
